I am attaching a few of the photos from our wedding. I loved the look of the flower petals. I think they show up beautifully in photos. Our ceremony was on Friday April 23, 2010. We were blessed with a beautiful outdoor ceremony...

Renaissance Theme Petal Toss...Ariel & Chris

Renaissance Petal Toss
"My mom asked if I wanted to give out the details so why not!

Our wedding was just plain “Renaissance themed”, we didn’t have a specific nationality to it but some people wore kilts, others dressed in German frocks and some even came in jeans! We met and were engaged (years later) at a renaissance faire and Chris (my husband) would buy me flowers every weekend as a corsage or to put in my hair, my mom thought throwing petals would be a fun way to bring us into the reception area and so it all worked out. The folks who Chris always bought my flowers from even supplied our bouquets and boutonničres for the bridal party-unfortunately I don’t know where my bouquet ever got to but hey, that’s another story ;)

It was a lot of fun! A lot of people said they had a great time so it was good to know people enjoyed our theme wedding. We had a sword fight in the ceremony, stories at the reception, spiced honey wine for a toast and it was great to see our guests all dressed up."

Ariel Kottke- Bride

"Oh it was a wonderful wedding. Ariel and Chris go to Renaissance Fairs, the time period would be Elizabethan England. AS you could see a lot of their friends are from the Ren Fairs too and had the costumes to go with it. We (Ariel and I, her mother) made the wedding dress - it is all hand embroidered with flowers (took 6 long months for me to do!) and made other costumes as well. The ceremony was highlighted by a sword fight! When the officiant said "does anyone object to this marriage...." an audience member got up and said "I know Chris to be a rapscallion and a scoundrel, he is not good enough for Ariel! I challenge you to a duel!" So the best man, standing up for his brother, took out his sword and fought the challenger back - right down the aisle to everyone's amazement! planned of course, but it was fun!). The wedding ceremony then proceeded without too much other discourse, but too much enjoyment! When it came time to announce the wedding couple, the men (and women) with swords made an arch for them and everyone else followed suit and lined up with the rose petals, which were wrapped in doily cones. They threw the petals onto the bride and groom making for a beautiful photo op and a lovely "coronation" for the newlywed couple. A grand time was had by all!" Marlene- Mother of the Bride
